3 dead, 1 survived in Stuart boat capsize

Authorities from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office stated a boating tragedy in Stuart, Florida on April 12 killed three individuals, including a child, an article of wpbf.com reported.

According to reports, Fernandez Jones, his young son Jaden, Robert Stewart and Willis Bell sailed on a 24-foot water vessel from Sandsprit Park on April 11. Sheriff William Snyder stated that the last known communication signal with the boaters was at 9:00 a.m., after they left. The boaters reportedly attempted to prevent their boat from sinking. Several agencies were later notified after families and friends of the boaters reported the incident. The following day, three of the boaters’ body were found lifeless except for Stewart. Stewart recounted how he held on to the boat overnight until reaching the shore. Though Snyder believes there is no crime involved, state authorities will investigate the incident.
