1 injured in Florida bike accident involving a patrol vehicle

A man riding a bicycle in Florida sustained injuries after he was struck by a police vehicle, an article of Orlando Sentinel reported on April 28.

Information from Florida Highway Patrol Sergeant Kim Montes revealed the incident between the bicycle and Winter Park police car occurred around 3:30 p.m. at the vicinity of a bowling alley parking lot on Aloma Avenue. Bicyclist, identified as 68-year-old Paul Miller, was riding on the sidewalk when he was struck by a vehicle driven by Officer Edison Williams, who was leaving the Aloma Bowl parking lot. The collision reportedly happened after Miller attempted to pass in front of Williams’ patrol vehicle.
