1 hospitalized following crash in Royal Palm Beach
The crash happened when a car struck another car and injured a man at Royal Palm Beach, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.
The crash near Royal Palm Beach and Loxahatchee Grove injured one man of Coconut Blvd. He was a passenger in a Honda CRV driven by a 19-year-old who sustained minor injuries.
The crash took place in Royal Palm Beach and west of Loxahatchee Grove.
The car’s headlights were turned off when it sped into the intersection and ran a stop sign. Its bumper collided with the rear of the passenger side of the Honda, investigators said in their crash report. The force of the crash threw the man from the car.
The driver ran away from the scene, leaving the other vehicle behind, PBSO said. The sheriff’s office did not release a description of the driver.
First emergency responders arrived at the site of the crash soon after the accident happened and the victims were transported to the hospital for treatment.
This route is partially blocked due to the severity of the crash, causing traffic delays.
It was not immediately clear if speed or alcohol played a role in the crash. Authorities are investigating the crash.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash. “Whenever you are behind the wheel of a car, please make sure you are not being distracted by texting, talking on your phone or communicating with your passengers. If you are in an accident where someone didn’t follow the posted signs or signals, please call me so that we can discuss your rights.”
