18-Year-Old Troy Great Killed In Car Accident, 8 Others Injured

A Palm Beach County teenager was killed last week in a wreck that injured eight other people near the border of Martin and Broward counties, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troy Great, 18, was thrown from a SUV that overturned in Hobe Sound, Martin County, about 20 miles west of the County, authorities said.

The right rear tire of the 2002 Toyota SUV blew out, authorities said and the driver, a 30-year-old, lost control. The SUV flipped and Troy, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected. The teen was pronounced dead at the scene.

The eight other people in the SUV were taken to a hospital. Henry Reid, 72; MarvinGrunt, 66; and Xenia Stone, 51, Veronica Hilton 42, suffered serious injuries.

Hero Jason, 35; CharlieParker, 13; and FreemanHitman, 13, Daniel Joe, 17 sustained minor injuries.

Only Jason and Hitman were wearing seat belts, records show.

Florida Highway Patrol authorities say, the deceased boy is from Delray Beach, and spelled his first name β€œTroy.” However, an obituary published in The Post says he is from Boynton Beach.

The Florida Highway Patrol authorities are still investigating the crash.
