26-Year-Old Driver And Four Others Injured After Car Crash In Broward County

An Audi and a Chevrolet Impala were speeding as they traveled east along Coral Springs when the Audi ran into a Honda Accord, which witnesses believed came out from nowhere and caught fire, police and the Florida Highway Patrol officials said.

The black Audi then split in half and the 26-year old driver of Martin County was left with critical injuries, which happened at the intersection of Coral Springs and Coconut Creek, a Broward County police spokeswoman said in a report, according to the Post.

The driver of the white Chevrolet and possibly two passengers abandoned the Impala and ran away from the crash at 9500 Coral Springs Parkway, Florida Highway Patrol said.

The driver and three other passengers in the Honda Accord were also critical at the crash scene. Police authorities the passengers as a 22-year-old, a 20-year-old and a 15-year-old girl were from Martin County.

Police are interviewing witnesses, the Florida Highway Patrol spokeswoman said. “Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call the Florida Highway Patrol, she said.

No one has been arrested, and other details about the investigation were not released.
