34-Year-Old Driver Won’t Be Charged For Crash That Killed A Broward County Couple
A couple was killed in a wrong-way crash in Broward County when their motorcycle slammed into a van, police authorities said.
The 28-year-old motorcyclist, with his 24-year-old girlfriend seated behind him, was ridng down 43rd Avenue near 38th Street in Hillsboro Beach against the flow of traffic, FHP said.
He crashed into a red Ford E250 van heading north on the one-way street.The couple was pinned under the van and suffered severe body trauma, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.They were rushed to a hospital in Davie where both were pronounced dead. Both were wearing helmets, cops said.
The 34-year-old Ford E250 driver was seriously injured. He was taken to Delray Medical Center in Palm Beach County, Palm Beach Sheriff Office said. The Florida Highway Patrol said, the crash is still under serious investigation as the Broward County police are trying to determine what actually caused the crash.
The blood test conducted on the Ford driver revealed that he wasn’t driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. No charges have been filed yet.
“If you know something, please say something” A Florida Highway Patrol official said, urging anyone with relevant information concerning the crash to contact the FHP.
