43-Year-Old Indiantown Woman Sustains Injuries In Pahokee Crash
A 43-year-old woman from Indiantown sustained multiple fractures from a car crash on East Main Street in Pahokee.
Officers of the Florida Highway Patrol were called to the scene of an accident involving a Nissan Sedan and a Renault hatchback along East Main Street in Pahokee.
The Renault was navigating a turn into the westbound lane of East Main Street when a Nissan, which was traveling eastbound, crashed into its front door on the driver’s side.
The 43-year-old driver of the Renault was trapped in her vehicle as a result of the wrecked door. Firemen worked on the door for two hours before finally prying it open. The trapped driver was evacuated from the vehicle in a critical state. She had suffered multiple fractures from the crash.
A front seat passenger in the Nissan suffered minor injuries in the crash and was taken to the hospital for treatment. The driver of the Nissan was also injured in the crash and was put in an ambulance for transport to the hospital.
Emergency services were on ground to clear debris from the eastbound lane of East Main Street.
It is still unclear what led to the crash, alcohol is being considered as a factor in the crash. According to a spokesperson for the FHP, an investigation is in progress to determine the cause of the crash.
