43-Year-Old Man Injured In Indian River County Car Crash
A 43-year-old man was injured in a frightening accident in which the scooter he was riding collided with a car sending him crashing into its windshield and flying 20 feet in the air, according to reports.
Miraculously, the 43-year-old man and friend suffered only minor injuries and have been released from the hospital. He will require physical therapy.
The 43-year-old had just left his hotel and was riding the scooter when a Mercedes driven by a local man near Indian County ran into him, according to FHP.
Indian County paramilitary police officer reported that the car failed to stop at a turn and slammed into the 43-year-old man’s scooter.
The 43-year-old, who was doing 60 mph at the time of the accident, flew 20 feet over the car after shattering its windshield with his helmet, sources with direct knowledge of the crash told FHP. Motorist stopped and called for help.
He was taken by ambulance to the hospital with trauma to the pelvis and bruises to one leg and an arm,” according to the Indian County local newspaper. A scan showed that none of his bones had been fractured.
The driver of the other vehicle is still being interrogated by police officials.
