43-Year-Old Man Killed In Royal Palm Beach Crash That Left Three Critical

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Highway Patrol Department said an 18-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle wreck in Royal Palm Beach.

The crash occurred just on westbound Okeechobee Boulevard near Wildcat Way when a 1994 Honda Civic hit a median then crash into a 2013 Honda Odyssey.

The Civic, driven by a 43-year old man, was traveling westbound on Okeechobee Boulevard when it lost control while trying to negotiate a left curve and veered in the Honda Odyssey.

The car was speeding and the driver over-corrected, causing the Civic to rotate and move toward the center median.

The Civic entered the center median and smashed into a the Odyssey driven by a 28-year old Port Salerno man, Florida Highway Patrol identified as Valentin Campbell.

The 43-year old man, a Royal Palm Beach resident, was pronounced dead at the scene by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue and Florida Highway Patrol.

Valentin and two other of his passenger are currently in the Palm Beach County General Hospital. Florida Highway Patrol said their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Palm Beach Sheriff Office said the driver’s airbag and seat belt had been removed from the vehicle before the crash.

No charges have been filed yet as investigations are still ongoing, FHP said.

All lanes were back open by 6 a.m. after earlier road closures.
