5 Killed, 20 Others Injured After Truck Plows Into Spectators In Broward County
A truck outfitted with tractor-sized wheels crashed in a crowd in Broward County, reportedly killing five people and injuring at least a 20.
Video footage of the incident shows the truck veering off course after driving over the top of different cars, then knocking down a guardrail and driving into a group of spectators.
The Broward County spokesperson said at a news conference, that two children and three adults were killed in the incident and 20 others were injured, according to Florida Highway Patrol Officials.
Broward County police officials couldn’t immediately be reached to give the names of the dead victims.
Ambulances and emergency services were quickly on the scene, including a trauma helicopter from the County.
In footage of the incident posted to social media, the truck revs its engine after rolling over the row of cars, and then begins to turn. As it becomes clear the truck is on a collision course with the guardrail, around 10 people in the truck’s path fall back or jump away. The truck then lurches to a stop, with many spectators screaming and panicking.
Florida Highway Patrol said, the truck’s driver is being questioned by police officials
