6-year-old struck by car, hospitalized in Miami

MIAMI, FL – A six-year-old girl was hospitalized after being struck by a car in Miami on Thursday morning, NBC Miami reports. 

The accident occurred in the intersection of North Miami Avenue and Northwest 71st Street around 8 a.m. The victim was crossing the street with a group of other pedestrians when she was struck by a vehicle that entered the intersection on a green light.

The girl was injured and taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Pediatric Unit. Her injuries are not believed to be serious and she is expected to survive.
