A Fiery Four-vehicle Car Crash On Oxen Hill Ct and Indian Head Cir Kills One And Injures Four Others

A fiery, four-vehicle crash involving a stolen car left four people injured, the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office said.

Police officials were tracking a stolen 2018 Toyota Corolla, which was speeding on Indian Head Cir, when it rear-ended a 2010 Mazda carrying two people and then hit an oil truck on the intersection of Oxen Hill Ct and Indian Head Cir, the local law enforcement agency said.

The Mazda burst into flames, killing one occupant inside and injuring the other, and struck a 2004 Honda Accord heading towards Roselle Ct whose driver appeared not to be seriously injured, officials said. “I came out to go shopping, and then I turn the corner and there’s a car in flames right in front of me,” said a 73-year-old woman who lives on the road where the crash had happened.

The force of the crash ejected one occupant off the stolen Corolla, identified by relatives as a 23-year-old boy. A second occupant and the oil truck driver were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Indian River County police were alerted to the stolen car and tracked it to an apartment complex about a mile from the crash scene.

Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash.  “Cases involving accidents with trucks are always subject to heightened scrutiny because of the additional regulations placed on drivers of those vehicles. Unfortunately, in our practice, we have seen numerous instances where drivers blatantly violate these regulations, which results in catastrophic consequences.”
