A Pro Golfer Involved in Fatal Crash In St. Lucie County
A pro golfer is out of the hospital after the driver of the Ferrari he was riding in struck several vehicles and a utility pole near Fort Pierce, said the Florida Highway Patrol.
The driver, a 71-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. He wasn’t related to the golfer, but his family was hosting the golfer while he was in town for a tournament.
One of the vehicles struck by the Ferrari was being driven by a 23-year old man, who was not injured. A witness recounts that the Florida Highway Patrol Officials helped victims after the accident. A 50-year-old woman in a BMW struck by the Ferrari was hospitalized.
“While the golfer escaped serious injuries and has been released from the hospital, he is understandably shaken up and more importantly his deepest condolences go out to the host family during this tragic and difficult time,” said a statement from The Post.
The 35-year-old has withdrawn from the game in St. Lucie County and was going home to Martin County. His father says the golfer had swelling in one leg but was otherwise “very fortunate,” per The Post.
Accident attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to this unfortunate crash. “This is a serious multiple car accident involving a pro golfer, which ultimately, resulted in the death of a driver.
