A 15-year-old Belle Glade boy died following a rollover crash on State Road 715 near the Pahokee Airport.
According to a report by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, a 2014 Honda Accord traveling southbound on State Road 715. Just north of Morgan Road it began to roll and flip. The driver of the Honda failed to make the turn at a curve and drove off the west side of the road. The car came to a halt in the grass, west of the roadway facing northeast.
Ivan Alcala, 15, of Belle Glade was pronounced dead at the scene. Also there were injuries to six other people. One is Victor Ocampo, 20, of Belle Glade and he is in critical condition.
The others sustaining various degrees of minor injuries are: Jose Benitez, 16, of Belle Glade. Jiovanni Huerta, 21, of Canal Point. Joel Martinez, 22, of South Bay. Jose Lara, 23, of Belle Glade. And the last is Alonso Aberlardo, 19, of Belle Glade. All were traveling inside the Honda Accord at the time of the crash. It happened at Bacom Point, also known as State Road 715, stated the Sheriff’s office.
Among surviving occupants, two have been transported to Delray Medical Center while the other four occupants were transported to Lakeshore Medical Center.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office currently has State Road 715 in near Pahokee closed because of this crash. They are suggesting that you take State Road 98 as your alternate route around the crash with injuries.
