The Florida Highway Patrol closed the southbound lanes of Florida’s Turnpike in Palm Beach Gardens after a crash. Several people were injured.
Fire Rescue was called to the scene of the crash involving an SUV that rolled over in the southbound lanes near Palm Beach Gardens.
Florida Highway Patrol’s troopers blocked all of the southbound lanes.
The SUV was reported to have hit a Honda Accord before skidding and rolling over, according to an eyewitness’ report. After being struck, the Accord hit a guardrail and drifted off the road. The drivers and their drivers sustained serious injuries.
Fire Rescue personnel said two children were ground-transported to nearby hospitals, and one woman and two other small children were taken by air rescue to the hospitals.
This is a vehicle crash with injuries said the FHP. The cause of the crash is being investigated. This story will be updated when additional information becomes available. At this time it has been reported that the driver of the SUV was at fault.
