A two-vehicle crash has left a man dead in Congress Avenue, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
The Palm Beach Sherriff’s Office said it received a 911 call reporting a crash near Prip Mart Valero, Congress Avenue. The crash involved a black Volkswagen Jetta and a green Chevrolet Cavalier. Witnesses described it as a road rage. However, police did not describe the act of road rage.
The Jetta, which was driven by a 26-year-old man, crashed into a tree, police said. First emergency responders arrived at the site of the crash soon after the accident happened and the crash victim was taken to a hospital, where he died.
The Chevrolet was driven by a 21-year-old woman.
According to records, the two knew each other well. They had been in a tumultuous relationship for three years. However, police have not said if that was a motive for the crash.
The crash is being investigated, authorities said.
