A 14-year-old boy from Stuart is dead after a crash in Martin County.
The Florida Highway Patrol says a 23-year-old driver, at the wheel of an Infiniti Q50, went off the road on Wildcat Trail, just east of Locks Road.
The car crashed into a tree, killing a passenger, a 14-year-old boy identified as Devin Minus.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. The FHP said it’s not clear whether the driver was wearing a seat belt.
First emergency responders arrived at the site of the crash soon after the accident happened and the victims were transported to the hospital for treatment.
The Infiniti driver sustained some injuries and taken to Martin Memorial South. A third victim of the crash, a 12-year-old girl also went to Martin Memorial South to be treated for injuries sustained in the crash.
Wildcat Trail is closed partially causing traffic delays. This is due to the severity of the crash. Vehicles on this route are pulling to the roadside to allow crews work. The delay of traffic on this route is due to the severity of the crash. It is best to use alternative routes.
