All southbound lanes of Florida’s Turnpike are closed after a wreck near the Indiantown Road exit in Jupiter.
The rollover crash involving a truck killed one and injured five people on the Florida Turnpike today.
The crash happened in West Palm Beach on Florida’s Turnpike south before SR 706/Jupiter leaving all lanes blocked. One person died, officials said.
According to a report by Florida Highway Patrol troopers, the two-vehicle rollover crash on Florida’s Turnpike involving a truck and a Mercedes left one fatality in its wake.
Troopers arrived on the scene soon after the accident. One male was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The five injured victims were taken to local hospitals, according to the Palm Beach County Fire District.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said all five people, which included two adults and three children, were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
All southbound lanes are closed on Turnpike north of Indiantown Rd while troopers investigate the scene. This is causing a delay in traffic. Avoid this area. It is best to use Interstate 95 as your alternative route until the road is reopened.
No information is immediately available on the identity of the person killed or the cause of the crash.
