Alice Andrews and Jessie Crowdie have both died from injuries from being hit by a silver Nissan truck while using crossing Glades Road in Boca Raton.
The women have been identified as Alice Andrews, 29, and Jessie Crowdie, 28, both of Stuart.
According to the authorities, the driver of the truck struck both women while crossing a street in Boca Raton. This is coming from the Boca Raton Police Department.
Police said Alice Andrews, 29, and Jessie Crowdie, 28, were walking north across Butts Road and Glades Road. This is by the Glades Plaza.
While they were crossing the westbound lanes, a fast traveling silver 2014 Nissan truck hit them, police said. Andrews was pronounced dead at the scene. Crowdie, on the other hand, sustained serious injuries.
First emergency responders arrived at the site of the crash. Their arrival was soon after the accident happened. The victims were transported to Boca Raton Medical Center for treatment. Crowdie died minutes after her arrival at the hospital.
The driver of the truck continued west before he stopped near the intersection of Glades Road and NW 15th Avenue where police caught up with him.
Police said detectives are still investigating the crash. This story will be updated when more information is available.
