A two-car crash between N Australian Avenue and Palm Beach Lakes Blvd killed one woman and left a man with serious injuries.
According to West Palm Beach Police Department, the two-vehicle crash occurred near Lake Mangonia in Palm Beach Lakes Blvd.
Jake Moore, 22, was driving east in a Hyundai Santa Fe and t-boned Alexia Lethbridge, 23 who was coming from N Australian Avenue. Both drivers collided Alexia was turning right onto Palm Beach Lakes Blvd.
First emergency responders arrived at the site of the crash soon after the accident happened.
Lethbridge’s vehicle, a Chrysler PT Cruiser sustained heavy damage, and the driver was removed from the Chrysler PT Cruiser. Crews pronounced her dead at the scene. According to WPBPD, Moore was unresponsive on the scene, and officers took him to Delray Medical Center. Moore is said to have sustained serious injuries in the crash.
The cause of the crash is unclear at the time of this report. However, officers are investigating the fatal crash.
The temporary closure of this route is due to the severity of the crash and has led to traffic delays. Vehicles on this route are pulling to the roadside to allow crews work. Some are pulling into nearby side streets. It is best to use an alternative route.
