Three men from Boca Raton have been killed in a crash at an exit ramp of the I-95 by PGA Blvd in Palm Beach Gardens, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The wreck happened around the exit ramp by the Marriott Hotel.
Bob Lewis, 21, was driving north on I-95 when he lost control of his 2017 Hyundai Genesis on the wet roadway and spun out, according to the FHP. The Hyundai went off the road, through a ditch, across the sidewalk and hit two standing palm trees.
First emergency responders arrived at the site of the crash soon after the accident happened. Lewis’s 23-year-old passenger Tyrone Willie died at the scene, the FHP said. Lewis and his other passenger, 21-year-old Greg Martin, were taken to Saint Mary’s Medica Center. Mr. Martin later died from his injuries.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Officers on scene say the crash was possibly as a result of traveling at a high rate of speed.
The temporary closure of this route is due to the severity of the crash and has led to traffic delays. Vehicles on this route are pulling to the roadside to allow crews work. It is best to use an alternative route. Please exit on Donald Ross Blvd or on Northlake Blvd if you need to access east bound PGA Blvd.
West Palm Beach accident attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to this unfortunate crash: “This is a tragic accident and especially sad because three adults were killed in the crash. We hope for the families sake that it can be quickly discovered what the cause was. Please be careful whenever you are driving a motorcycle, car, SUV or truck. We hope that all parties involved consult with an experienced trial lawyer. If you have been injured in an accident, call my office for a free consultation to find out what are your rights”.
