Five Injured After Van Crashes Into Convenience Store on W. Copans Rd Coconut Creek
Broward County Sheriff are investigating crash into a convenience store on West Copans Road, Coconut Creek.
The crash caused a section of the roof over the retail store to collapse, according to the Broward County Fire Department. The building was evacuated. Four people were hurt.
Broward County Sheriff confirmed three employees and one customer were injured. The five victims including the driver were sent to Northwest Medical Center for treatment. The injuries ranged from minor to life-threatening. The Sheriff’s Office saidthere was no fire, and the victim’s burns were from cooking grease. Broward County Fire Rescue and paramedics also confirmed that a pregnant woman was injured by the damaged ceiling.
The driver, a 42-year-old man of Coconut Creek, may have lost consciousness before the crash, according to police. The crash remains under investigation.
