A crash has closed several lanes of traffic on northbound Interstate-95 near Sheridan Street, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened just at the I-95 exit ramp of Sheridan Street near Hollywood and left two people injured. The injured victims were flown to the hospital with serious injuries. Broward County Fire Rescue was also at the scene. The number of vehicles involved is unknown at this time.
The crash has closed several lanes of the interstate as trauma helicopters are responding to the scene, according to authorities. Fire rescue officials said to “avoid the area if possible.”
First emergency responders arrived at the site of the crash soon after the accident happened and the victims were transported to the Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Only the right lane is open as crews investigate the crash, according to the FHP. Three lanes of I-95 South are blocked due to the severity of the crash, causing traffic delays.
