Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide detectives are conducting a full investigation into a motorcycle crash that claimed the life of a 20-year-old Boca Raton man.
According to information provided by the police, the fatal motorcycle accident happened at the intersection of State Road 7 and South Central Park Boulevard west of Boca Raton. It involved three other vehicles.
Reports indicated that the 20-year-old motorcyclist was riding his 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle along the northbound lanes of S.R. 7 when the driver of a 2012 Mazda drove into his path while attempting to make a U-turn at South Central Park Blvd. Unable to prevent a collision, the motorcycle crashed violently into the Mazda.
The motorcyclist was ejected from his bike on impact and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. First emergency responders arrived at the crash scene shortly after the accident happened.
Although two additional vehicles went on to crash into the Mazda, which was being driven by a 73-year-old man, no additional injuries were reported in connection with the traffic crash. The motor vehicle crash snarled traffic for hours on South Central Park Boulevard. Drivers are advised to use alternative routes.
Investigations into the fatal motorcycle accident are ongoing.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Shuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to this unfortunate accident: “This is an unfortunate crash involving a motorcycle driver and cars in Boca Raton. It appears to have been caused by a driver of a car making a U-Turn. We don’t know at this time if it was an illegal U-Turn. Until that is know, we don’t know were the liability for the crash rests. Please be careful whenever you are driving a motorcycle, car, SUV or truck. If you have been injured in an accident, call my office for a free consultation to find out what are your rights”.
