Three people were hurt, one critically, in a two-vehicle accident, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
A 78-year-old man of Vero Beach was driving eastbound in a 2007 Cadillac Deville on 83rd Street prior to the two-vehicle accident. As he drove through the intersection, his car was struck on the right side by the front of a northbound SUV driving on 91st Avenue.
The impact of the collision jolted the Cadillac Deville off the roadway and into a ditch. First emergency responders arrived shortly after the accident occurred. The elderly man, who suffered critical injuries, was taken to Sebastian River Medical Center and then flown to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne.
The 40-year-old SUV driver and a 38-year-old passenger, both of Sebastian, had minor injuries. They were taken to Sebastian River Medical Center.
None of the three victims were wearing seat-belts at the time of the accident, troopers said. The FHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
Accident attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to this unfortunate crash. “This is a serious accident involving two vehicles, ultimately, resulting in bodily injuries of three people.
