Two Injured In Wrong-Way Crash On Florida’s Turnpike In Martin County
Two men were injured in a two-vehicle wrong-way crash on Florida’s Turnpike near the county line.
The crash occurred when a large trailer traveling southbound crashed into a pickup truck on the Turnpike, according to a police report. There are serious injuries and back ups are reported.
A 42-year-old man from Hollywood was operating a trailer was traveling on the southbound lanes of I-95 when he collided with a pickup truck driven by a person from Duluth Georgia. The collision caused the pickup truck to spin across the highway and lay on its side.
Both drivers were critically injured. The truck driver was transported to St Mary’s Medical Center in a critical condition.
The collision blocked the southbound lanes for several hours, causing delays in traffic. The lanes are yet to be reopened.
An investigation of the crash is ongoing.
