Motorcyclist Killed In Crash With Car at Lake Worth
A motorcyclist was killed following a crash with a car which slammed the motorcycle into a guardrail, the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office said.
The motorcycle crash happened at Lake Worth between Hypoluxo Road and Silverwood Drive.
The man was riding a 2012 Yamaha motorcycle east on Hypoluxo Road toward the intersection of Silverwood Drive when he crashed into a vehicle travelling south on Silverwood Drive, according to the sheriff’s office. The motorcyclist braked too hard to avoid the crash. But he got smashed into the steel guardrail on the side of the intersection, causing him to get thrown off the bike.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office said. At this time, detectives believe that speeding and impairment may have contributed to the crash.
First emergency responders arrived at the site of the crash soon after the accident happened and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
This route is partially closed due to the severity of the crash, causing traffic delays. Vehicles are pulling into nearby bars and local cafes. It is best to avoid this route and use alternative routes.
