Jacob Gilbert, 17, Suffers Broken Leg, Head Injury In Crash
Jacob Gilbert, 17, was critically injured and hospitalized after he was struck by a gray sedan while he was skateboarding, Palm Beach Sheriff’s office says.
According to the crash report, he skateboarded home from his girlfriend’s house prior to the incident. Gilbert was found bloodied in the roadway of Sherwood Forest Boulevard and the rescue crews flew him to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach.
Sheriff’s authorities say Jacob Gilbert, a junior at Mavericks High School, was riding in the roadway when the crash happened. Witnesses said they heard a scream and saw a gray sedan at the scene.
Jacob suffered broken tibia and fibula bones, gashes to his head and an injured shoulder in the wreck about two miles north of his home.
