Two students from Royal Palm Beach High School were injured after a school bus from Royal Palm Beach High School and truck crashed into each other, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said.
The school bus crash happened near Haverhill and Wallis Roads. According to the school bus crash reports, the bus was transporting students from Royal Palm Beach High School when witnesses say the driver of a truck ran a red light. Eleven students were on board at the time of the crash, the school district said.
First emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the accident happened. Fire officials say one injured student was taken to a local hospital by the emergency crews for treatment. The second student was taken by car. Both students appeared to have serious injuries at the time.
The rest of the students were released to parents at the scene of the crash.
“Two students from Royal Palm Beach High School were taken to the hospital after the bus they were riding in was hit by a truck. 11 students were on the bus at the time. Emergency crews transported one student to the hospital,” Palm Beach County Police Spokeswoman said.
Authorities have not said who was at fault in the crash.
