Pedestrian, Motorcyclist Injured in crash At Gateway Boulevard and Congress Avenue
A pedestrian and motorcyclist were injured in a crash at Gateway Boulevard and Congress Avenue in Boynton Beach, according to police.
The crash happened at Gateway Boulevard and Congress Avenue when a man crashed his 2015 Volkswagen into the rear-end of a motorcycle at the intersection of Gateway Boulevard and Congress Avenue, injuring the motorcyclist and a pedestrian in the process.
According to a witness report, the motorcycle stopped at a red light when a Volkswagen coming from behind, rear-ended it. A pedestrian who was crossing the road prior to the accident was injured in the wreck.
Emergency crew arrived shortly after the accident happened. Both the pedestrian and the motorcyclist were transported to the hospital. Police say the injuries are not life threatening.
Preliminary investigations showed that the car driver who lost control of his vehicle on Gateway Boulevard may have caused the crash, but police are still investigating the crash. This story will be updated with new information once law enforcement finish their investigation.
“Expect delays in the Gateway Boulevard area,” Boynton Beach Police Department said in an official statement issued. Drivers are urged to avoid the area. Motorists are asked to seek alternate routes.
