Man Drives Into Pedestrians On Lake Worth Road, 4 Injured
The Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Department responded to a bad crash on Lake Worth Road after a man traveling in a van drove into pedestrians.
Witnesses reported he drove into a group of people in Lake Worth Road West Palm Beach, injuring at least four people, Palm Beach police said.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue PIO Albert Borroto says four people were injured in the Lake Worth Road crash and one of those patients was taken to the trauma center.
“The van sped down a bustling road recklessly, swerving onto a walkway. It crashed into passersby. A total of four people were critically injured in the crash,” he said.
Fire Rescue says the van driver, 22, was arrested by police after witnesses saw him drive a white van onto a sidewalk on Lake Worth Road, according to an arrest report. Three of the four pedestrians were taken to a regional Medical Center, and one woman who suffered injuries to both legs was airlifted on trauma alert.
Police say a driving-under-the-influence charges are pending.
It will be recalled that a man was hit and killed recently as he and his wife walked in the area of Hibiscus Street and Quadrille Boulevard.
