Four people were hospitalized following a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of Summit Boulevard and Davis Road in West Palm Beach.
According to the crash report, a man was traveling in a Toyota Corolla along the westbound lanes of Summit Boulevard when he attempted to make a turn onto southbound Davis Road. His vehicle collided with the front of a semi-truck and then spun out of control, consequently crashing into another vehicle. The semi crashed into a street pole on impact. The West Palm Beach crash left four people injured.
Eyewitnesses alleged that the Toyota driver took too much time making the turn from Summit Blvd. onto Davis Road. However, Palm Beach Sheriff’s office told reporters that both drivers had a green light at the time.
According to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue spokesman, the victims were air lifted to Delray Medical Center using a medical helicopter. While their exact conditions remained unknown, authorities described the crash victims’ injuries as “critical and life-threatening.”
According to information provided by the TC Palm, Summit Blvd. is closed at this time as a result of the crash. Rescue crews are working to clear the debris. Drivers are advised to use alternative routes. Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
