A car collided with a tree on St. Andrews Boulevard killing one and injuring two people.
According to a spokesman for the Florida Highway Patrol, a male driver was seriously injured when he drove a Dodge Dart sedan into a tree along St. Andrews Boulevard off West Palmetto Park Road.
The car was occupied by two other passengers. A twenty-five year old female passenger died on the spot, while a seventeen year old boy who was thrown out of the car before the final impact sustained critical injuries in the process and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. He is in a stable condition.
Two eye witnesses reported seeing the car hit a curb before going off the road and into a tree located about10 feet meters from the road.
It is yet unconfirmed if any other vehicle was involved in the collision before the Dodge veered off the road. The Florida Highway Patrol is conducting a full investigation into the crash.
Emergency first responders were on the scene to attend to the crash victims and clear the wreckage.
