19 Year Old Teenager Critically Injured In Jupiter Crash
A 19 year old teenager sustained serious injuries in a car crash on West Indiantown Road in Jupiter.
According to Police reports, the accident occurred after an illegal U-turn close to an intersection on West Indiantown Road in Jupiter.
The 19 year old teenager was driving a Hyundai Accent hatchback when he attempted a U-turn into the westbound lane.
A white Jeep Cherokee was approaching the same intersection on the westbound lane of the road and could not slow down fast enough to avoid a collision with the Hyundai Accent. The Jeep struck the right side of the car, causing the Jeep to roll over on its side. The Hyundai crashed into a hotdog stand which was located about 20 feet from the right shoulder of the road.
Paramedics were on the scene to treat the teenage driver of the Hyundai, who was knocked unconscious as a result of the impact. He was later taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the Jeep suffered minor injuries from the crash and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The Florida Highway Patrol is conducting investigations into the cause of the crash.
