FHP Investigating Hit and Run Crash On Glades Road in Boca Raton
Officers of the Florida Highway Patrol are conducting investigations in Boca Raton after a driver left the scene of a crash which sent one person to the hospital with serious injuries.
According to police reports, The driver of a black Volvo sedan was in the westbound lane of Glades Road in Boca Raton, when a blue Ford truck was heading in his direction. The truck which was driving eastbound in the westbound lane heading straight for oncoming traffic.
The driver of the Volvo Sedan swerved to avoid collision but still hit the truck and slammed into a street light on the side of the road.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing the truck driver flee on foot from the scene of the crash after leaving his truck on the left shoulder of the road.
Emergency services rescued the driver of the Volvo Sedan who was trapped in the wreckage. A fireman sustained some lacerations on his arm in an attempt to evacuate the injured driver from the wreck.
The truck driver was later apprehended and officers of the Florida Highway Patrol are conducting investigations into what led to the crash.
