Man Sustains Critical Injuries In Crash With Cement Mixer Truck

A man sustained critical injuries in a collision with cement mixer truck along Sunrise Boulevard in Forte Pierce.


According to the Forte Pierce Police Department, a middle aged man was seriously injured when the Honda Accord Sedan he was driving ran into a parked cement mixer truck on Sunrise Boulevard.

The driver of the Honda was driving in the northbound lane of Sunrise Boulevard when he collided with the rear of the cement mixer truck which was parked on the right shoulder of the northbound lane.

The driver of the cement truck was not hurt in the crash, but the driver of the Honda Accord sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The driver of the cement truck said that he was driving on the northbound lane when he noticed some unusual noise coming from his engine  over on the shoulder.   He claimed to have had his hazard lights on as he was parked on the shoulder of the road.

“It was kind of dark and anybody could have run into the truck” said an eyewitness.

Police are investigating the state of the Honda Accord driver before the crash and the stories of both parties in order to decipher what caused the accident.

Emergency first responders were on the scene to attend to the injured driver and clear the wreckage.
