Emergency services were called to attend to a fatal crash after a white Honda Civic ran into the path of a tractor trailer truck on the southbound lane of Interstate 95, north of Lantana Road in Lake Worth.

According to the FHP, the white Honda cut in front of the tractor trailer, forcing the driver of the truck to make a sudden stop. The truck could not stop in time and collided with the side door of the Honda Civic sending it rolling on its side.

Two other vehicles were also involved in the crash as they collided with the rear of the truck in a pile up due to the sudden stop. None of the drivers in the other cars were injured in the crash and the driver of the truck was not hurt.

Firemen worked tirelessly to rescue the driver of the Honda Civic who sustained some severe injuries in the rollover crash. A single westbound lane was closed down for some hours as accident reconstruction crews were on the scene to clear the crash site.

The Florida Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash.
