Five people were injured in a fatal crash involving three vehicles on West Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach.
There was traffic gridlock on West Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach after a car crash left three vehicles badly damaged.
An officer with the Florida Highway Patrol said five people were injured in the crash. A Fire Rescue helicopter airlifted one of the victims to the nearest hospital. The others were taken in ambulances to another hospital for treatment. Rescue crews worked tirelessly to tackle the flames from one of the vehicles.
The Accident was reported by the FHP as a pile up crash which occurred when the foremost vehicle, a Toyota Tundra, made a sudden stop on the westbound lane of West Atlantic Avenue.
An eyewitness claims that the driver of the Tundra applied his breaks to avoid running over a stray dog which ran across the road in front of him.
Emergency services were on scene to clear the wreckage and stop the flames from the third vehicle in the pile.
Drivers are advised to be careful when driving dangerously close to other cars on busy roads.
