23 Year Old Woman Dies In Fatal Crash At An Intersection In Belle Glade
A young woman lost her life in a fatal crash in Belle Glade in Palm Beach County.
Police are investigating a car crash that occurred at the intersection of West Canal Street and Northwest 16th Street in Belle Glade. A 23 year old woman was involved in the accident which left her beneath a truck at the intersection.
The 23 year old woman, Tomesha Lane, was a backseat passenger in a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu that was traveling north towards the intersection when it was T-boned by a 2015 Ram truck that was driven by a 40 year old man from Jacksonville.
The driver of the Ram truck was not hurt in the crash.
Tomesha Lane was thrown out of the car due to the impact of the crash and ended up beneath a Chrysler which had stopped for a red light at the intersection. She sustained critical injuries from the crash and was rushed to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach. Lane was later pronounced dead when she succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
The 26 year old driver of the Chevrolet Malibu and the front seat passenger both suffered minor injuries from the crash. According to Police reports, none of the occupants in the car had their seat belts on.
Investigations are still ongoing to determine the cause of the crash, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office said.
