Two people were injured when a truck struck them after a rear end collision on 56th Avenue in Vero Beach.
Emergency services where on scene at an intersection after an accident along 56th Avenue.
According to Police reports. A Ford truck rammed into two pedestrians along 56th Avenue in Vero Beach. The truck was said to be making a turn from 20th street into 56th avenue when a Mercedes Benz Sprinter collided with it from the rear sending it into the path of pedestrians on the sidewalk.
The truck struck both pedestrians before coming to rest. It is still not clear what led to the rear end collision, but eyewitnesses say the driver of the truck miscalculated the wide angle turn at the intersection
One of the pedestrians, a 58 year old woman, suffered multiple fractures and was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. The second pedestrian sustained minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
The driver of the truck was not hurt in the crash.
Police say it does not look like the truck driver is at fault but an investigation is still ongoing.
