A man was saved from a burning vehicle when he hit a tree after a crash on Parker Avenue in West Palm Beach.
Good Samaritans gathered to rescue a man who was trapped in a burning car along Parker Avenue. According to an eyewitness, the man was driving a Ford Sedan on the northbound lane of Parker Avenue when he was sideswiped by a Nissan SUV in an attempt to pass his car.
The driver of the Nissan was said to have impacted the Ford on the side of his vehicle, causing him to lose control. The Ford drove off the road and crashed into a tree.
A passerby was said to have noticed that the car was smoking from the hood when he approached the vehicle. The driver of the Ford was reportedly trapped in the car which was on fire.
A Good Samaritan was able to break the front side window of the car and pulled the driver out before the flames spread from the engine. The driver was taken to the hospital due to a neck injury.
Firemen were on scene and they were able to put out the flames.
Police are investigating the whereabouts of the SUV driver who drove off after the side-wipe collision.
