A Toyota SUV caused a pile up crash after his tire blew out on US Highway 1 in Fort Pierce.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of a Toyota SUV was in the southbound lane of US Highway 1 when he had a tire blow out. He immediately lost control of the vehicle and drove into the path of an incoming Honda Civic in the northbound lane.
The Honda Civic collided head on with the Toyota SUV and two other cars. The other cars involved were a red Chrysler minivan and a blue Toyota Corolla. Both cars sustained minimal damage.
The driver of the Toyota SUV was badly injured and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the Honda sustained minor injuries, but the passenger had to be rushed to the hospital due to head injuries.
A spokes person for the FHP said no one else was hurt in the crash, but it could have been worse considering how busy the road gets during rush hour.
Emergency services were on scene to clear the wreckage and get traffic flowing freely again.
Accident attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to this unfortunate crash. “This is a serious accident involving four vehicles, which ultimately sent two people to the hospital.
