Boca Raton Man Sustains Serious Injuries After Collision With Tractor Trailer
A man from Boca Raton sustained serious injuries after his car collided with a tractor trailer truck on West Boynton Beach Boulevard.
Emergency First Responders were at the scene of a crash which left a Boca Raton man with critical injuries.
The man was driving a red Toyota Celica sports car on the eastbound Lane of West Boynton Beach Boulevard when he collided with the rear end of a tractor trailer truck.
“He was speeding dangerously, I doubt anybody could control a car easily when speeding on a busy road”, said an eyewitness.
Officers of the Florida Highway Patrol interrogated the driver of the tractor trailer who was not hurt in the crash. He claimed to have applied his brakes a little before he heard a loud crash behind him.
Police are investigating the possibility that the driver of the sports car was above the speed limit when the crash occurred.
Debris could be seen scattered on the road where the accident happened. Emergency services spent over three hours clearing the wreckage.
The driver of the Toyota Celica was rushed to the hospital after sustaining multiple injuries in the crash. His right hand was excessively damaged and doctors say it will need to be amputated.
A police spokesman advised drivers to be mindful of the speed limit especially on busy roads.
