Crash Shuts Down Northbound Lane On Highway I-95
A man was severely injured in a crash that shut down one of the northbound lanes along US Route I-95 in Lake Worth.
Emergency services were seen clearing a wreckage after a crash on US Route I-95. A 40 year old man was said to have lost control of his Dodge Avenger on the northbound lane of US Route I-95. He strayed into the neighboring lane beside his, forcing a Ford Focus to swerve to the right shoulder of the road.
The Ford Focus, which was already speeding, continued off the road and crashed into the guardrail. A Toyota Camry, which was trailing behind the Ford Focus, rear ended the Dodge.
The driver of the Dodge only sustained minor injuries in the crash, but the driver of the Toyota Camry was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries. Two occupants of the Ford, a driver and a front seat passenger, were taken to the hospital for multiple injuries. Eyewitnesses say it took hours to free them from the mangled wreck.
Emergency services were on scene to clear the wreckage and attend to the casualties. There is no information on what caused the crash, but the Florida Highway Patrol is handling the investigation into the crash.
