Four people were seriously injured in a car crash involving two vehicles on Warfield Boulevard in Indiantown.
Emergency services had their hands full with the metal debris littering the southbound lane of Warfield Boulevard after a crash. Four casualties were recorded in the crash including two children.
According to police reports, the crash occurred when a Honda Accord collided with a Honda Odyssey Van along the southbound lane of Warfield Boulevard. Investigators from the Florida Highway Patrol were on scene to determine what led to the crash which totaled both cars.
One of the vehicles, the Honda Odyssey Van, burst into flames on impact. One eyewitness admitted that she could hear the voices of the injured passengers in the Honda Odyssey screaming for help.
Passersby were able to pull two of the victims out of the burning car. A 7 year old boy and his 4 year old brother, who were backseat passengers, were pulled out of the vehicle., Their mother was trapped behind the wheel.
The mother was later evacuated from the vehicle when firemen arrived on scene, although it took about 3o minutes to cut her free.
The driver of the Honda Accord sustained severe injuries in the crash and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. The two children in the van were also taken to the hospital for serious injuries, while their mother was rushed to the ER for burn injuries and multiple fractures.
Police is still investigating the cause of the crash.
