A spokesperson for the Florida Highway Patrol said that one person died and two others were injured in a crash involving a black Honda Accord and a blue Ford Edge.

The Ford Edge was out on a test drive when the accident occurred.

The driver of the Ford Edge was traveling westbound on Forest Hill Boulevard when he sped through an intersection and ran a red light in the process. According to the police, the Ford Edge crashed into the Honda which was approaching from the northbound lane of South State Road 7.  The force of the crash sent the Honda into the path of a Toyota Tundra truck that was southbound in the middle of the intersection.

The 27 year old driver of the Honda was fatally injured in the crash.  He succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital. The front seat passenger in the Ford Edge was seriously injured and was taken to the hospital in a stable condition.

The driver of the Ford Edge sustained life threatening injuries in the crash. Paramedics tried to stabilize him before being transported to the hospital. He is said to be stable at the moment. The driver of the Tundra was not injured in the crash.

The Florida highway patrol closed down a section of the road for three hours before traffic was restored again. Investigators say the driver of the Ford Edge will be taken in for questioning when he recuperates. No charges have been filled at the moment.
