30 Year Old Woman In Critical Condition After Stuart Crash
A 30 year old woman was left in a critical condition after a car collided with a utility pole on U.S. Highway-1 in Stuart.
According to a spokesman for the Florida Highway Patrol, a 30 year old woman is fighting for her life after a collision with a utility pole put her in a coma.
The accident occurred when the woman was traveling on the southbound lane of U.S. Highway-1 and the brakes of her Sedan failed to respond. Police say she panicked and swerved towards the left shoulder of the road and collided head on into a utility pole located on the side of the road.
The hood of her car was damaged beyond recognition and she was badly injured as a result of the impact. Paramedics say they found her unconscious when they arrived on the scene. She was placed in an ambulance and rushed to the hospital.
According to firemen on the scene, the vehicle was so damaged that the roof of car caved in from the impact of the fallen pole.
Emergency services worked to clear the wreckage and utility personnel were also on the scene assessing the damage to the utility pole.
Police is still investigating the cause of the crash.
