One Person Killed, Two Others Injured In Rollover Crash
One person was killed and others sustained injuries after a rollover crash along U.S. Route 27 in Lake Harbor.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 57 year old man was killed in a crash that occurred on U.S. Route 27, close to Mutt Thomas Road. The 57 year old man was driving a RAV-4 SUV on the westbound lane of US Route 27 when he hit a Mitsubishi Galant Sedan causing his vehicle to overturn.
The driver of the RAV-4 SUV sustained severe injuries in the crash and was put in an ambulance. He succumbed to his injuries and died in the ambulance. The driver of the Mitsubishi Gallant sustained minor injuries in the crash and was treated on the scene.
A front seat passenger in the Mitsubishi Gallant was also injured in the crash, he sustained a fracture and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
It has not been confirmed if speed is a factor in the crash. The Florida Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash.
Emergency First responders were on scene to attend to the injured passengers and clear the debris from the highway.
