One person was killed and three others injured after a rollover crash on Interstate 95 in Indian River County.
Emergency services were on scene after a fatal crash on the northbound lane of Interstate 95. A 50 year old woman was killed and three others suffered injuries in the crash.
A 23 year old woman was driving a Ford Explorer SUV in the northbound lane of I-95 when she lost control of the vehicle and skidded on the asphalt. The vehicle rolled over and finally came to rest on its wheels close to the right shoulder of the road.
One of the passengers in the SUV, a 50 year old woman from Lake Worth, was ejected from the vehicle and sustained life-threatening injuries. She died before paramedics arrived on the scene.
Two other passengers in the SUV, a 47 year old woman from Lantana and a 41 year old woman from West Palm Beach suffered multiple injuries and were rushed to the hospital for treatment. The 23 year old driver of the SUV sustained minor injuries in the crash and was treated by paramedics on the scene.
Police say the 50 year old woman was not wearing a seat belt when the crash happened. Alcohol has been ruled out as a factor in the crash. The FHP is conducting an investigation into the crash.
