Emergency services cleared debris off a major section of Northwest 2nd Street after a fatal accident involving a motorcycle and a car. The crash began when a 37-year-old man traveled in a Honda motorcycle on the westbound lane of Boynton Beach Boulevard and attempted to turn onto NW 2nd Street.

A 2010 Toyota Corolla was approaching from the eastbound lane of Boynton Beach Boulevard when the two vehicles collided. Subsequently, the motorcycle crashed into the Corolla at the passenger’s side; the impact caused the 37-year-old man to be thrown off the bike.

The rider sustained life-threatening injuries and officials pronounced him dead on the scene. Although the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet when the crash occurred, his injuries were too severe. The Corolla driver, however, did not sustain any injuries in the crash.

Authorities reported a third car was involved in the crash but fled the scene shortly afterward. Officials have described the vehicle as a gold Honda Accord with a minor dent on the front fender. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the crash.
